Blue Shusui Koi Collection:
If you’ve ever had a blue Shusui koi before than you would know exactly why they themselves need a gallery specifically dedicated due to their distinct beauty and splendor amongst the koi world. The Shusui are a form of Doitsu koi (Doitsu meaning a koi with scales along dorsal and lateral lines only). They are blue-grey with dark blue scalation along the dorsal and lateral lines and can often have red on the sides, fins and or body. The head is a blue/gray with some having reddish cheeks or jaws, some even displaying this reddish spotting over its blue below the lateral lines and on the fins. The blue Shusui koi also shows prominent darker blue scales along the dorsal and lateral lines than the rest of its regular blue Doitsu composition; due to the lack of scalation and details on the back of the Shusui as compared to the Asagi, its color can at times vary from pale blue to dark blue often impacted by the density of mass in water composition or water temperature. Considered to be a true Doitsu koi, the Shusui was a popular variety that was bred during the earlier stages of koi fish breeding. Popularized and prized for their sheer magnificent blue coloration, the blue Shusui up until today has not lost its popularity amongst koi collectors/enthusiasts world wide. As with any other variety that we choose to bring to our clients, a vigorous 5 step process is in placed to secure the high quality and grade with all of the koi varieties that we bring right to your home/office via our site at www.ChicagoKoi.com .
